ATLANTA (AP) -- No skating for Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine
He had planned to be on the ice at the Duluth IceForum at the end of the Atlanta Thrashers practice for some drills. But Thrashers spokesman Rob Koch says Glavine isn't feeling well today and telephoned to say he didn't want to infect anybody on the team.
Glavine was drafted in the second round by the Braves and the fourth round by the Los Angeles Kings. A native of Billerica, Massachusetts, Glavine once skated during practice with the Boston Bruins 15 years ago.
The 41-year-old Glavine was drafted into the National Hockey League out of high school.
Glavine has been working his way into skating shape this winter by coaching his sons' youth hockey teams. He had planned to join the Thrashers in full uniform at the end of practice for some drills.
Koch says the team hopes to reschedule with Glavine.
