Thomson, Ga--If we told you there's a team out there with two guys on offense back and three or four on defense, you'd probably be thinking this is a rebuilding year and the team might struggle. Nah. This is Thomson, a team that doesn't rebuild, but reloads.
Coach Milan Turner is now in his third year with the Bulldogs and that's the mindset. Yes they lost Torrie Battle, Chris Jordan and William Bussey in the backfield, sure John Atkins is off to college, but this is a program that always finds a way to win. It's a time for the younger guys to shine. Patience isn't a word in many coaches vocabulary but will have to be for Turner
"We've got some talent, it's just real young talent" said Milan Turner "I don't think you can make up for inexperience. I think you just have to take it one game at a time. You have to be patient with them. I think it's a process, and just staying in the process. You know, doing what you do every day, day in and day out, weight room, practice, discipline, organization."
"We need to stay focused every day" said Jaquez Hart "Come out here with hard work every day. Be focused in class and out here on the practice field"
Quarterback Chris Tutt returns to run the offense and he'll help navigate this team through one of the toughest schedules in the state. But the goal is to get better every week with this young and talented crew. If that happens, come playoff time, all bets are off.
