Aiken, SC--It could be an interesting year at South Aiken over the next three and a half months. A tough schedule lies ahead but the Thoroughbreds have a squad capable of playing with just about anyone. They'll push some people to the brink and a bunch of wins could be in the offing.

It'll start on offense where Bo Baldwin is back from injury to run the show. He was under center for both wins last year and is capable to run the offense. He won't be alone. With a new offensive coordinator and a solid line featuring Justin Day, there's experience up front. Coach Jeremy West is liking where this squad is at.

"There's been some bright spots on both sides of the ball and we're pleased with where we're at. We have a long way to go but where we're at right now, we're way beyond where we've been in the past." said coach Jeremy West

A solid defenisve backfield should help some inexperience up front and that could go a long way in the fourth quarter. Last year South Aiken was outscored in most of those ballgames late. Everyone knows it and thats where conditioning comes into play.

"As long as we have the guidence of coach West, we can finish out ballgames and win some games and get it done." said Terell Johnson "Being a senior, it doesn't really change anything, every class, everyone works hard on this team."

"We just got to be conditioned for all four quarters, besides that, I think we're ready to hit the road and get things going." said Teddrick Steadman "We're confident in every position that we have. We're pretty big this year and we haven't had a good line, it's been a while, since my freshman year, so we're pretty confident in those big guys down there."

Despite a two win season a year ago, confidence is sky high at South Aiken and their number one goal is to make the playoffs. Get through some early tough games healthy and reaching that goal should be within reach.
