Petticoat Junction, SC--How things change, how they stay the same, Silver Bluff is once again in the two-a lower state finals. Getting there has been the easy part the last couple of seasons, taking the next step, the hard part.
For the second time this year, Al Lown's team will square off with Bamberg Ehrhardt, just a lot more at stake this time around. This is a senior dominated team that's making a third straight trip to the lower state finals. They are as hungry as ever to get over the hump and play in the championship game.
"I think the main thing is we're not playing against anyone" said Al Lown "We're playing for us. This time of year everybody says what about Bishop England, or Bamberg, we're not playing against anybody, we're playing for us, for our school so we're trying to look at the positive side of it"
"Oh yea, last year was definitely motivation" said Gyasi Yeldell "It's a drive to get a state championship, it gets better and better every day"
This game could be differnet from the first time seeing Bamberg quarterback Sumner Cooler was just back from injury. The Bluff's Shaq Wright has been cleared to play after getting dinged up friday. Quarterback Jaylen Lawrence, battling strep throat but is expected to play Friday night.
