Bamberg, SC--As far as powerhouse football programs go in the CSRA, Bamberg-Ehrhart is right up there. The Red Raiders are usually in the mix around Thanksgiving, and this past year played for the state title only to come up short. This year, they have other plans.
They say offense wins games, but defense wins championships, and Bamberg may have the best in the business. Sure, they lost a good portion, but in Martin Aiken and David Deleon they have two of the best in the state, and both have already committed to D-1 schools.
This is a team with motivation of winning a title. While they knew they could get there a year ago, they never really thought about winning the biggest game of the year.
"We really want to get back man and we really want to win it this time," Aiken says. "Last year, we said we'd get there. We got there, but we recall we never said we were going to get there and win it and that's what happened, we got there but didn't win it."
"Even though we lost, the first thing these guys said when we came back was, 'Coach, we're going to get back there and we're going to win it this time," says Head Coach Kevin Crosby. "Last year we were just trying to get there and the focus of winning it wasn't there."
They do have a lot of holes to fill having lost nine guys on a high power offense. Even with a sophomore quarterback , this team expects to win and bring home a title, something that hasn't been done in 20 plus years in Red Raider territory.
