Grovetown, GA--In terms of experience, they are still one of the youngest teams in the area, Grovetown. Only a school for a handful of years and now it's time for the program to step up and be a playoff caliber team.
These kids have now been in the program since their jv years and are hoping that wisdom pays off. They lost Juwan Biggers and Jamal Cummings but have others ready to step in and make those big plays. They'll be young in the offensive backfield, including a sophomore quarterback, who'll be put to the test with a tough non-region slate.
"To be the best you have to beat the best" said Donovan Davis "A lot of teams in the county play easy teams but we come out and try to play the harder teams to get better"
"We had five of the ten on our schedule ranked in the top ten in any state you know" said Rodney Holder "It winds up being one of the top 10 hardest scheduels in 5A so that's going to get us there. Hard work and paying the dues and playing those good people. Our fan base sees what it looks like and it's all going to make a difference"
While they may be youthful in the backfield, pretty much all seniors to block for them so the learning curve might not be that steep. Plenty of underclassmen saw playing time a year ago.
