Waynesboro, Ga--On a team that's as good as Burke county is, it's tough to pin point one guy who has a standout game. Usually, they spread the ball out so much its near impossible. But this week, we found out good things do come in small packages and his name is Donquell Green and he's our Operation Football Live player of the week.
In their first round playoff win against drew, it was green who played a big part in the Bears jumping out to the big early lead. When the dust settled he only carried the ball eight times but had 173 yards rushing and three touchdowns, all over 30 yards. Lack of size no problem, his speed, a big problem for the opposition
"Well they say I'm very quick" said Donquelle Green "I dodge them, but I can throw the ball as well, that's what they don't know. They look forward to me running the ball, I'll throw it too."
"It's hard to duplicate what he's going to give you" said coach Eric Parker "Donquell fits that mold so yea, I think there's something to that, that until you see it up live and close it's just kind of hard to understand how quick he is and how fast he is."
Green hasn't thrown the ball a ton much this year but is very capable and offers the perfect complement to Corey Nayton in running the offense. For his efforts, we honor Burke County's Donquell Green as our player of the week. Burke County hosts Woodward Acadmey Friday night.
