Glenn Hills pushing hard to be a playoff team

Monday, August 11, 2014

Augusta, Ga--Coming off a five and five season, Glenn Hills and second year coach Tim McClain are feeling pretty good about themselves. They made big strides in getting better and now are ready to take the next step. It won't be easy though.

The Spartans lose guys like Earl Cobb and Khalige Flegler and will have to have someone else step up on the offensive side of the ball. While they'll be young on offense, a couple of heavy hitters are back on "D" guys like Elroy Maloyd, who had 12 sacks last year. They're all trying to take the next step from just missing out on the playoffs last year.

"They're hungrier and I'm telling you what, with the group of guys we have coming back, they can taste it. With us being in this new region we just really feel the sky is the limit."said Tim McClain

"We're way more determined then we were last year and we've set the focus already" said Elroy Maloyd "We need to win that big game, that one game that will give us the confidence we can do it."

Tough non region games right out of the gate could provide that signature win. They open with Aquinas on the 22nd.
