Lincolnton, Ga--It's late in the season which means winning time in Lincoln County. Year after year the red devils start to peak right about now and this year is no exception. After their 49-6 win over Aquinas, it's off to Lincolnton for our Operation Football Live/Augusta Chronicle player of the week.
Franklin Sherman led the charge this past Friday. On the ground, through the air and in the huddle. All told a four touchdown performance for the senior. When he was a sophomore, Sherman tore his a.c.l. but has come all the way back to be a leader on this team.
"Franklin just has great work habits." said coach Larry Campbell "He studies films, he comes in on weekends and studies films. He learns coverages and knows where to throw the football and is just a team leader."
"I feel proud of myself" said Franklin Sherman "I mean every week the coaches prepare us for what we need to look forward to so I was looking forward to the big victory."
It was that injury that coach Campbell says may have scared off some college recruiters but feels a school will get a steal when they see just how talented Sherman is and in particular on the defensive side of the ball as a safety.
