Augusta, Ga--It has been a record setting season for the Fox Creek football team. They've already amassed more wins this year then they have in the history of the program. They've scored more points and are battling for a playoff spot. This past Friday, one Predator had the game of a lifetime.
That's the reason we've selected Marty Williams as our Operation Football Live, Augusta Chronicle player of the week. In their win against H.K.T., Williams simply went off. 337 yards rushing and three scores and another 118 yards passing and two more touchdowns. Don't look for this junior to take the credit. He's the first to pass the baton to his teammates.
"I didn't even know how much yardage I had" said Marty Williams "I wasn't even worried about it, I was worried about winning. Then after the game my coaches mentioned to me how many yards I had and I was shocked, very surprising. But I couldn't do it without the big guys up front. I couldn't do what I accomplished without those guys."
"I think his biggest concern, he's such a team player, he doesn't want those guys getting upset because he's getting the attention." said coach Russ Schneider "He wants them, hey interview the offensive line today or interview a receiver or running back or something."
Fox Creek coach Russ Schneider went as far as saying he's never had an athlete quite like Williams in his 17 years of coaching. Yes, in case you didn't pick up on it, Williams is only a junior.
