Louisville, Ga--I think a lot of folks were wondering just how good Jefferson County was going to be this year after losing Barry Bostic and having Chester Stone playing with a torn ACL. A funny thing has happened, this Warrior team may be as good as ever, and a big part of that is our Operation Football Live, Augusta Chronicle player of the week.
Dontavius Kitchens is his name and scoring long touchdowns is his game. Friday night Kitchens ripped off a 65 yard touchdown to start off the half. The next time they got the ball, on the next carry, kitchens went even further to the tune of 99 yards. By the time his night was done, 9 carries and 180 yards pushing him over the thousand yard mark for the season.
"I just did what I had to do." said Dontavius Kitchens "I just saw the hole, tucked it and my speed took me the rest of the way, nobody could catch me."
"Just a great performance by a great player." said coach JB Arnold "We've been blessed this year to have some great performances all year and we needed him to step up last Friday and we know we can count on Dontavius to get the job done for us."
Just as impressive, Kitchens running mate, Charles Broadus is also over the thousand yard mark for the season making this a lethal one-two punch.
