Augusta, Ga--One team looking for, and expecting a few more wins, the crusaders of Curits Baptist. Last year they set team records for wins and points but now are hungry for a lot more.
While they lost a handful of seniors including Cole Swanson, this group is as confident as ever. They only have two seniors but have a different walk in their step knowing they are close to being a team that can contend for the playoffs. Rickell Lynn will be the focus of the offnese. He's only a sophomore but Lynn has shown great strides in getting better. He's part of what coach Nathan Duffie calls his most athletic team to date.
"You said we had four wins, but we also lost two by just two or three points" said coach Nathan Duffie "We really could have had a real successful year. When you get in games like that, you learn and you get experience. Even though we're young, we have a lot of leadership, especially from the younger guys."
"Last year when we came in and we broke the school scoring record, we got a lot of momentum coming off that I think" said senior Daniel Minter "This team, honestly I think we believe we can do a lot of special things."
A few more kids on the roster adds a little more depth to what is tradionally one of the smallest squads around. They'll come in handy, especially with the foundation the Crusaders have already built.
