Waynesboro, Ga--For the past two months, Burke County has been playing football like a lot of teams want to play basketball, up tempo, run and gun style that creates a lot of points. Now in the playoffs, things have a habit of changing.
The Bears survived a first round scare in which they managed just 19 points. Shouldn't be a surprise as everything's tougher in the post season. With a balanced offense and a hard nose defense, coach Eric Parker loves the fact his team is multi-faceted that doesn't rely on just one or two guys to hit out of the park so to speak.
"The only reason we're here is because of our work habits." said coach Eric Parker "It's not like we've been an overly talented team. Our guys have just gotten out here and they've worked real hard and found a way to get better and a lot of guys are contributing."
Bears will host Baldwin Friday night. It's a rematch from week one in which the Braves got the "W" 14-8. Parker is confident his team will be ready and says it's not always a bad thing to have a few nerves, especially when you're one of 16 teams left playing in the tournament.
