Fox Creek putting it together

Monday, September 20, 2010

Fox Creek is one of the younger football programs in the area, but even so, five total wins in four years, isn't very many.

But that was then, and this is now for the Predators and Coach Russ Schneider.

Fox Creek is 4-1, and with two-win Denmark Olar on the slate this Friday, the Predators could get their second five wins in only six games, compared to the 40 games it took to get the program's first five.

Schneider feels his system is finally taking hold, and this is a team ready to win.

He says, "Everybody's just excited. We almost don't know how to act because we've never been there before, but we have a system that we've been working on for the last several years, and now we've got kids with a little more experience that are athletic, and things are starting to roll the right way for us."

Quarterback Marty Williams sees the change to, not just on the field, but in the school building.

He says, "Everybody around here's happy now, especially around school. It's never been like this. It's great. It's excellent. I hope it goes on and on through the season."

Williams is a big reason for how the Predators have played. The quarterback has accounted for 13 touchdowns in Fox Creek's five games so far.
