Hephzibah, Ga--Hephzibah junior quarterback Terry Robinson is an admitted student of the game. Watches game film a lot, busted his butt in the summer and now it's paying off with rebel wins. This past Friday night, his best to date with a big outing against Greenbrier earning him our News 12/Augusta Chronicle player of the week award.
Robinson has been battling turf toe which has limited his running but that certainly didn't effect his passing. 31 of 41 for 391 yards and four touchdowns against Greenbrier. He also engineered a late drive that set up the game winner. Pretty darn good seeing he was forced to use his arm and not his legs.
"It kept me from running and I was able to get the ball to my receivers." said Terry Robinson "I'm pretty sure they had fun with it too. We were already going to throw the ball but that kind of kept me in the pocket and I got the ball out of my hands quick."
"We put in this new emphasis on offense really, towards the end of the summer." said coach John Bowen "He's picked up on it, absorbed it like a sponge. We're really just now getting into this thing and he's progressing real fast."
Football runs in his family and he started as a sophomore. As coach Bowen put it, last year his job was to manage the game, this year, more to make plays.
