Thomson, Ga--Last year was a breakout season for Briarwood and coach Josh Osborne. A trip to the state semifinals for the independent ranks before bowing out to the eventual champs. This year, the Bucs are going to give the opposition a whole new look
In the past Briarwood was solely a run, run , run offense. When it worked well, they scored a lot of points. When it didn't, yea, they had to scrape for everything possible. This time around the Bucs are making an effort to open up the playbook and make defenses defend the entire field.
"So hopefully we're going to open up our offense a lit bit more" said coach Josh Osborne "We're going to try to have more of a balanced offense of run and pass. Last year I felt like the run is all we had."
"That's right, we just have to keep working on our plays and get fluent with them and then we'll be good during the season." said quarterback Blake Sowell
"It's going good, we still need to get some hands people but it's going good so far." added Steven Gunn
Quarterback Blake Sowell will have the task of running the new offense, but coach Osborne is very confident he's more then ready for the responsibilty. Half of the offense line returns so there's experience there and no question this team is planning on another deep run into the playoffs.
