Sandersville, Ga--Anytime you have a stadium nicknamed the house of pain, yea, that can be a little intimidating. What's more intimidating for the opponents of Washington County is they're loaded.
Coming off a 10 and 2 season and moving into a region that features some of the metro area schools, the Golden Hawks have to be heavy favorites to be atop the division standings. It starts with firey coach Joel Ingram and filters down from there. Ingram knows how adapt to what he has.
"We got to know ourselves" said coach Joel Ingram "You know we're always going to try some things here and there, a few tweaks here and there, but never change for the sake of changing, but never be opposed to change for the betterment of the team. That's what we've kind of trying to do this summer is to find ourselves and exploring ways to make where we are better."
While they might have a young quarterback, they have experience up front and in the backfield with "whistle" aka Montravious Gladden. Gladden had a monster season and hopes to pick up where he left off. A tough schedule out of the gate with games against Jefferson County, Statesboro and then at Thomson could show the rest of the area just how good this team is.
