Washington, Ga--For 11 games last year Washington Wilkes did everything right. Outscoring teams by miles and everything clicking. Then, stone cold routed in the playoffs. Oh did that leave a bad taste in the Tiger mouths.
That's why they may be more focused then ever. With the bulk of their roster in tact, including quarterback Deandre Harris, they want to prove last year was a fluke. With 21 seniors, they know what the ulitmate goal is.
"We don't try to dwell on that but yeah, it's in our minds, we can't end like that no more. We have one goal in mind and that's to make it all the way to game 15." said Jonquise Graves
"It was just a reminder all off season, through our strength and conditioning program, it's kind of fueled our fire this summer" said Robbie Robinson "But I can't say enough about our seniors. Our seniors have been great leaders for us, and it started just as the season ended last year."
Coach Robbie Robinson also toughed up the schedule. Thomson and Jefferson County are part of the non region slate, then throw in rival Lincoln County and he says it's the toughest its been in quite some time. No question though, these guys are hungry for a trip to the dome
