THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW) -- A three and seven record is not Thomson football.
Last year, is a thing of the past and the bulldogs want to quickly put it behind them. They'll do it with a new man in charge and a different attitude.
Rob Ridings returns to coach the program, a decade after he was on the staff with Luther Welsh. Ridings is a hard nosed guy who plans on having the Bulldogs control the ball and not put his defense in tough positions. It may take a little time to develop the offense he'd like to see and it'll take a few leaders on the field to lead by example as much as anything.
"I'm starting to see some development of some of our leaders that we're going to need desperately," Rob Ridings said. "We have a pretty tough schedule before we get into our region schedule and we have to have some guys step up and lead this football team because the kids are the leaders. The coaches are basically cheerleaders once the game begins on the sideline."
"He's a very intense guy. He never gives up, he wants to win and that's just the tenacity of him," Chris Tutt said.
Chris Tutt is just one of those guys that'll be the on field leader. Tutt along with Jake Brooks and Jaquez Hart are a few of the returning players that'll be those on field leaders. While Ridings will rely on the running game, he also knows they'll have to throw the ball, especially with a the tough early schedule they'll be facing.
