Thomson, GA--When you make it to the state quarterfinals, it's tough enough just getting past your next opponent. Now imagine doing it with your starting quarterback on the sideline. Sounds unlikely, but that's just what's happening over at Thomson.

The Bulldogs hit the road to Cartersville this friday with Quay Cummings under center. The junior stepped in after starter Chris Tutt went down in week one of the playoffs. Tutt's high ankle sprain could've been a big blow, but the Bulldogs have barely missed a beat.

"It's been a good challenge because lately I've been practicing at quarterback and knowing what to do. When Chris (Tutt) went down, I just got in there and knew what I had to do to help the team."

"Chris is coming along well. He's still day-to-day. Quay's done a great job stepping in at quarterback for us. You're going to have your bumps and bruises and scratches and scrapes. We're in good shape, and we're just going to have to continue to have a great week of practice and play our very best Friday night."

It's a battle of unbeatens for the Bulldogs at Cartersville. Don't expect them to go away from their dominant running back duo of Chris Jordan and Torrie Battle.
