North Augusta, SC--In the past four or so years North Augusta has been spoiled with some great running backs. Demarcus Rouse and Vinnie Miller as of late and now it's DeVonte Pressley's time to shine. While he's in a different mold then those two, Pressley is quickly leaving his mark on the jacket program.
It's the reason he's our Acadmey Sports and Outdoors player of the week. This past friday Pressley finished with 276 yards rushing and the three touchdowns. On the year, he's now over the thousand yard mark. He's only 5-9 and weighs a185, but plays a lot bigger then that day after day.
"When I'm in the game, I don't think about anything. I'm just thinking about winning and getting in the endzone and putting those points on the board. I've never done anything like that, it was just exciting for me." said DeVonte Pressley
"DeVonte has one of teh biggest hearts and one of the best kids I've ever coached." said coach Dan Pippin "There's no tougher kid I've coached. I couldn't be more proud of a kid I've ever coached, is DeVonte. He's just gives everything he's got."
Pressley also has a big offensive line to run behind and at times, gets lost which makes it hard for defenders to find him. That line is taking as much pride in his success and vice versa.
