Lincoln County football

Lincolnton, Ga--The gold standard for high school in the area is in Lincolnton with Larry Campbell's Red Devils. 40 years and 459 wins are all the proof you need. This year, why expect anything different??
Doesn't matter if they are in the gym getting lose or where they are, you have to get up pretty early in the morning to out work Lincoln County. While they'll have an underclassman at quarterback they have a trio of running backs that'll make opponets have to be on their toes. With a new O-line and with a new QB in Ben Turner, there's some concern about turnovers early on.
"Our offense is a little tough on a quarterback" said coach Larry Campbell "You're taking a shotgun snap every play. Probably 50% of them you are reading somebody and early in the season we're going to prbably, hopefully not, put it down on the ground a few times."
"I think he can get it at first" said Dayshawn Taylor "He's doing pretty good in practice and he's just keep working with it so I think everything will be alright."
Lincoln County will also have a new defensive line but some key place behind them to help stymie their opponent. This year is also different in the split in class a between public and private schools. Only 16 teams voted in via a power poll will make the playoffs. Its a concern seeing nothing is guaranteed.
"Only one team is assured of going to the playoffs and that team is who is number one in the region" said Larry Campbell "So it puts a lot of pressure on you to win just about every footballgame if you are going to assure yourself of going to the playoffs"
But if history repeats itself, lincoln county should be right there at the end. Campbell did say had they known before the scheduling was done, how the playoffs would go, he would have scheduled bigger schools to help increase their chances. No matter, expect to see Lincoln County still playing late November, early December.
