Jackets poised for battle with No. 1 Lexington

Tuesday October 4, 2011

North Augusta, SC--For the second straight week, one of the biggest high school football games involves North Augusta. This time, at home and it's against the number one team in the state, Lexington.

The Yellow Jackets have one of the most potent offenses in the state and have been racking up points like few teams can. They are coming off what Dan Pippin called his biggest coaching win against northwestern and will have to keep that same intensity level to beat number one

"We talk about it all the time that every game is a big game for us now." said coach Dan Pippin "No matter what happens this time we still have another big game next week and the week after that. If this was going into the state finals, then you know it'd be the biggest game we've played but this isn't that game but it's an awfully big game."

"We just come out here and do our job and just focus on what we've got to do to get past this week and then we'll worry about next week." said Montez McGuire

Coach Pippin is worried about the offense from Lexington, then again, I'm sure they say the same thing about North Augusta with Vinnie Miller and Montez Mcguire having huge years.
