Hephzibah, Ga--It wasn't exactly a year to write home about for the Rebels of Hephzibah. Despite having a three year starter at quarterback, Hephizbah managed just a single win. This year they're hoping for a drastic turn around.
If they're able to, it'll start up front with a beefed up offensive line. Some size and strength will be a solid foundation for what's going to be a young backfield. Guys like LeJohn Phillips, Jalen Bell and Caleb Stewart will be asked to do a lot while the youth in the backfield come together as a unit.
"We're going to be emphasis heavy on the running game" said coach John Bowen "So we can control the clock and let these kids grow into their positions."
"We have to have a lot more leadership this year" said senior LeJohn Phillips "We didn't have much leadership last year. We've been working hard every day, we're out here running and stuff so we're getting a lot better."
Winning some early games could go a long way in giving them confidence. Coach John Bowen did say the off season workouts and mental make up of his squad is better then any he's had in the past.
