Harlem, Ga--They may be small, they may not be the quickest, they may not be the best, but I'd say they may be one of the grittiest teams in the area. When Harlem straps on the helmets, Jimmy Lewis expects and gets everything out of his kids that he can.

t's a trait of a team all coaches love, but few have. For the Bulldogs, they'll need to rely on it as they'll have their hands full every game. Quarterback Trey Parker has already suffered a season ending injury leaving the team in the hands of Mason McDaniel. He's capable along with the rest of the team and Lewis actually loves the work ethic the kids have.

"They're young, not a whole lot of size, not a whole lot of speed but they got a lot of heart an they're going to give it all they got." said coach Jimmy Lewis "We watched the scrimmage Friday and we were down by 30 something points and they're still, all 11 of them getting after it trying to make a tackle and that's all we can ask for. Give it all you've got and whatever happens, happens."

"You got to have heart to play football" said Aaron Hintz "You got to have will just to keep playing. It's always tough, but we always find a way to push through."

The Dogs don't have a ton of depth up front either so expect kids like Aaron Hintz, Jonathan Hartman and Aaron Ronburn to go both ways. Lewis is hoping these guys get better each game to open some holes for a talented backfield.

"Every game the line is going to get better and better" added coach Lewis "Real inexperienced. The better they get the better my backs are going to get because with an offensive line, if you don't have a good one, it doesn't matter what kind of backs you have."

Harlem gets thrown right into the fire this Friday night when they travel to Lincolnton to battle Lincoln County. Keeping healthy all year will be a big key to this teams
