Augusta, Ga--Success is contagious over at Curtis Baptist school. Fresh off a school best six win campaign, the optimism is spreading and so are the numbers on the Crusaders roster.
A team normally short on roster size has seen an increase in numbers. A playoff appearance and the loss of only one senior has boosted Curtis Baptist in the experience department. This season, head coach Nathan Duffie expects more maturity on the field and more knowledge of the playbook. The brothers in the backfield, quarterback Christian Reid and tailback Trey Reid have earned the highest of praise. Combine those elements and you have a very motivated curtis baptist squad.
"This is the first time the kids are talking about just winning in general. Not surviving a season, actually setting goals and they have." said Nate Duffie
"Last year, it was kind of a growing season for us and our fifteen upperclassmen have come to over one hundred percent of the workouts, two a days, a day." said Caleb Minter
It may not seem like a lot but Curtis Baptist is holding a roster in the upper twenties. A key transfer from North Augusta will do nothing but help the Crusaders on opening night against Westminster.
