Dec. 21, 2013 AUGUSTA, Ga-- Can't beat high school football in the middle of December. The CSRA Senior Bowl kicked off Saturday at Augusta Christian with stars from across the area.
More than 70 players were on hand for the game looking for one more chance to play some high school ball.
The American squad seized their opportunity with a 9-6 win over the National team.
For the winning side, Westside kicker Keaton Craw put the American team on the board with a 43-yard field goal. Laney's Horatio Keller tossed a touchdown to Glenn Hills receiver Earl Cobb.
Cobb won the American team's offensive MVP award. While Laney's Tarius Callaway was awarded the defensive MVP.
Aquinas linebacker Chris Lambert was named the National team's defensive MVP with five sacks. Jenkins County QB Ira Hendrix picked up the offensive honors for the losing side.
