Thursday, August 15 To say that this football team is poised for another state championship run wouldn't be out of the ordinary, or even a major proclamation. It’s just the way they do things over at Lincoln County.

Once again the powerhouse that is Lincoln County holds all the pieces for a GHSA-A state title.

For 41 years, Larry Campbell has been coaching the Red Devils and Campbell says the 2013 squad is as motivated as ever.

Last season, Lincoln County lost in the semifinals to Dooly County, a devastating three point loss that hasn’t been forgotten.

This year's product on the field is experienced with two quarterbacks and a bevy of offensive lineman, all making a difference for Coach Campbell.

“It is very important. The less you have to coach people from the ground up is going to make it easier for us this year,” Red Devils offensive lineman Andy Raywengrow said.

“Having two quarterbacks that can get the job done in this particular offense, in class-A, is a big plus. Returning three offensive lineman out of five, also, a big plus,” Coach Campbell said.

The big pieces are in place, but there are a few concerns.

Lincoln County lost both his linebackers to graduation and the wide receiving corps took a hit, as well. The Red Devils will rotate quarterbacks for another season.
