Barnwell, SC--It was a tale of two seasons for the Barnwell Warhorses a season ago. They started six and o before losing four of their last six and bowing out early in the playoffs. This year, they are looking to finish at strong as they started.
They'll have their hands full if they hope to do that. Graduation loss was big on both sides of the ball and in key spots, namely up front on the line. One big change in ed moore's third year as coach is attitude. Barnwell now knows they can win and win a bunch. They also know they can't take anything for granted like a season ago.
"First part of the season we went 6 and 0 to homecoming and we kind of got big headed before the homecoming loss." said Travis Elmore "Can't have the same mindset as last year, we have to come out better, starting hard and come stronger."
"Last year we experienced success at the begining of the year, started 6 and 0, our kids weren't use to success" said coach Ed Moore "They didn't handle it as well as I'd like them to but you have to teach them everything."
Getting off to the quick start won't be as easy this year. First they'll have a lot of new faces in new places. Then there's a three hour bus trip to open the season followed by Blackville Hilda and Williston Elko on the schedule. No sneaking up on people like they did a year ago.
