Aiken, SC--When you think South Aiken football the last couple of years, one word comes to mind, injuries. Sure it's part of the game, but when you take out some of your leaders, the team will struggle, that's been the case for the Thoroughbreds.
A year ago this team had nine starters go down in the first two games, including quarterback Bo Baldwin. Baldwin is a big strapping kid with a cannon of an arm and is a legit college prospect. With all sorts of talent around him, expectations are as high as they've ever been with this team.
"We've always had a lot of potential so I'd like to see them stay healthy and stay together and see what this group can do" said Jeremy West "This is a special group, these are my babies, when I got here they were 9th graders and I've seen them grown to be seniors has been very important and it's been a good ride with them"
"Defintely a different feel" said Will Holbrook "Just in the weight room, the 7 on 7's, we feel like we're clicking a lot better. The offense is starting to get it a lot better and it's just a completely different feel"
South Aiken has a killer non-region schedule but west feels if they get to the post season, nobody would surprise them seeing the competition they will have already faced.
