AUGUSTA, Ga---The Cross Creek Razorbacks are 2-0 for just the second time in school history. They've gotten a victory at home and on the road already this season and this past week, it was the work done on the ground that led to another notch in the win column.
This edition of Operation Football Live's Player of the Week is named Patrick Province but there is nothing provincial about the senior running back. Province broke through the Aquinas defense for touchdown runs of 11, 16 and 67 yards, all in the first half. He finished the game with 150 yards on the ground in the 36 to 6 win. His teammates call him shark and no doubt opposing defenses have been hearing the Jaws theme in their sleep after province chews them up. He has also emerged as a team leader for coach Scott Tate, both emotionally and vocally.
"We have a new motto this year I kind of made up," says Province. " It's called go 150 percent. You bring 150 percent everyday, we oughta win every game."
Coach Tate adds, "He's a team leader. He steps up to the plate and the other kids follow him."
Province ran his way into a communigraphics t-shirt emblazoned with the title of operation football live player of the week. The Razorbacks will try to move to 3-0 this Friday at Westside.
