Augusta, Ga--No wins two years ago....three wins last season and things are looking up more then ever for the Josey Eagles. With more kids out for the team this year, the potential is there to be more than competitive.
One major aspect coach Bernie Chavous has seen in the early going, a better attitude. Besides having a few more kids out, it's the fact they want to be there will play a major role. Even with a sub 500 record last season, Josey was in most ballgames. A point that's also not lost on the man in charge.
Probably the biggest challenge we have is the fourth quarter," said head coach Bernie Chavous. "Eight out of 10 games we were leading at half time last year. At the end of the game, we were trying to find a way to lose a game. This year we're going to find a way to win the game in the fourth quarter. If we can do that, then we'll be alright."
"This year we're more focused, we have better players, we'll have a winning season this year." said a confident Brandon Brown.
Josey will still have their hands full, they lose one of the most exciting players from a year ago in Danny Daggett. Josey opens on the 31st against Butler.
