AUGUSTA---New Aquinas head coach, Bill Tenore comes to the head coaching position from the defensive line where he spent most of his time last season. Before that, he was a high school head coach in Ohio.

Tenore inherits a 4 and 7 team that found itself on the losing end of 4 games that were decided by less than touchdown. Tenore says the team will be running what he calls a 1950's style offense with 2 tight ends, and a full house backfield. A style he says should help with only 4 starters returning on offense.

Coach Tenore says, "Alot of people think it's a power offense but it's actually finesse. You can have smaller lineman and you don't have to have a burner to run the ball."

The Irish are also looking to have find more success in the close games. "Alot of that is gaining confidence from what you're doing. You can either expect to win or expect to lose," Tenore says. "Unfortunatley, the only way to expect to win, is you gotta go out there and do it to get used to winning."

The fighting Irish open their season August 31st at Lakeside.
