Experience could be key for Ridge Spring Monetta

Monetta, SC--One team that doesn't start til next Friday is Ridge Spring Monetta. It was just a few years ago they were vying for a state title. With plenty of guys back on both sides of the ball, the Trojans could be in pretty good shape to open things up.

Ridge Spring runs a full house backfield and it helps when all your running backs and quarterback Drake Yon return. They may have struggled scoring points a season ago, but it might not be a problem this time around. With solid senior leadership on both sides, they know what price it takes to win.

"They know what it takes to get there and we've had a good summer as far as weight room." said coach Mark Rodgers "Our leadership ability is turned up and I think we're better off in that category then we've been in at this time last year and they're willing to pay the price to get there."

"Well that's the key because we run and if we don't have the line then everything is messed up." added senior Joseph Foster

The Trojans also bring eight starters back on defense but like a lot of coaches, coach Rodgers is concerned about depth. Since a good portion of his kids go both ways, an injury or two could be costly.
