McCormick, SC--Do whatever it takes, four words when strung together can mean a whole lot. For the McCormick football team, that's the motto as they head into tomorrow night's season opener. Do whatever it takes to win.
Coming off just a two win season could have a lot of teams very concerned, not the Chiefs. With most of the offense coming back and a solid group on defense, these guys are confident they can do an about face and win a bunch of games. It all goes back to the motto.
"One of the things we got put on the back of our coach's tee-shirts is "whatever it takes" said coach Frank Brown "You know we tell our guys do whatever it takes. Get off the ball, do whatever it takes to get the man blocked in front of you to make that run, to get that extra yard. That's kind of what we're going to live by this year is whatever it takes."
"I mean you do what you have to do. Go hard, don't take a play off, bust your butt in the weight room, bust your butt on the practice field" added senior Kentrell Freeman
Running back Roosevelt Adams could be the focus of the offense, but they're going to have to wait a bit before he returns following an injury. As coach Brown says, it's laid it on the line to his offensive line to step up their game. If they stay healthy and do whatever it takes, look for McCormick to turn things around in the next few months.
