Fox Creek is still a baby when it comes to football. A new school, a new program that's beginning it's fourth year as a varsity program. Strides are being made and the goal every year is to improve on the past season.
A two and eight record a year ago doesn't sound that great, but take this into consideration, they were very close to being a playoff team. Fast forward to this year and the team is pretty confident as they get going. One big reason the addition of athletes to the roster.
"This year we have a few more athletes and the intensity is better and we've had more speed then we've had. We're not very big but our quickness and athleticism is much more then we've ever had." said coach Russell Schneider
With those athletes and an offensive line that returns in tact, no reason to think the predators won't be able to put a few more points on the board. Wes Ivey and Paul Thomas are just two guys that willl anchor the line play. One thing that may have been lacking, the isn't right now, confidence.
"I think we're just pumped just to get out there and play, we're pumped. To get to the playoffs, that's our main goal and win more games." said senior Ty Keefe
"It is and especially in high school, it's just mental. Most of these guys, if you put it in their head that they can do something, they usually believe they can and that's half the battle." added coach Schneider
Fox creek will have their work cut out with a tough schedule that features Silver Bluff, Williston Elko, and Blackville Hidla just to name a few.
