It has been a year to remember for the Hephzibah Rebels football team, a trip to the playoffs, and even a home game at their brand new stadium. This week, we honor one particular Rebel with our Operation Football Live player of the week award.
Junior Antoine Nabors has been one of the go to guys this year and came up big in their regular season finale against rival Cross Creek. Nabors with 170 yards on the ground and three touchdowns in the win. He's been a pretty solid back each and every game, averaging around 100 yards per ballgame. Kind of like the team, he's gotten better as the year has progressed.
"Well this year I kind of set goals, last year I didn't make that 1000 yard mark so I came out wanting to reach that 1000 yard mark so I came out this last game and got past the 1000 yards." said Antoine Nabors
"He's just a hard runner, hard to bring down." said coach John Bowen "Even though he's small, he runs it tough and runs a lot bigger then he weighs. I'd say it's just his ability to accelerate real quick and cut so well and like I said, he does run tough"
Of course Nabors has plenty of help around him. The likes of quarterback Connell Reddick and a solid offensive line have played big parts in his success. Today though, we honor Antoine Nabors as our Operation Football Live player of the week.
