North Augusta, Ga--The finish line is in sight for area high school football teams. In Georgia it's the last week, in South Carolina, all but the big schools have reached the post season. Two teams looking to sort things out still are North Augusta and Aiken.
Big turn around from just three years ago for the Yellow Jackets who are in the midst of another outstanding season. A seven and two record as they enter the battle for Aiken County with the Jackets. Consider this, two years ago, one win. It took a late rally last Friday to pick up the win and the confidence level continues to grow.
"A ton different, we've had a great week of practice" said coach Dan Pippin. "Yesterday's offensive time was as good as we've had. That doesn't neccessarly equate to wins but it's not a bad thing either. It's really nice to see a difference in how the program has changed in three years."
The game with Aiken is a big one, the winner will likely get a home playoff game while the other team could fall as far as an 11 seed and hit the road for the playoffs.
