Evans, Ga--A lot of times when we select our Operation Football Llive player's of the week, it's for a big game. Sometimes, like this week, it's a combination of not only that game, but a season worth of work. That's the case with Evans' Jonathan Finch.
The junior who really started to prove himself late last year has stepped it up a notch this year. On Friday against Josey, a 173 yard, one score performance. Pretty much par for the course with the year he's had. Over the thousand yard mark and 11 touchdowns in helping lead Evans to a perfect record. The biggest thing is, he's only getting better
"He turned it on at the end of the year last year" said Evans coach Marty Jackson "We're a running back by committee this year. He felt like he had a bullseye on his back and I think he's kind of taken that challenge and been excited about it and he tries to get better each week."
"You want to make every year your best year. I started off kind of slow on the varsity level last year but you get use to it and it begins to kick in." said Jonathan Finch
Of course a lot of credit has to go to the entire Evans team, football is for sure not a individual sport. This week though, we take a moment and honor Jonathan Finch as our Operation Football Live player of the week.
