Cunningham's Leadership Leads Laney

It's not always the stats that impress us here at News 12. Sometimes, it's the leadership and determination a player shows that makes them deserving of becoming Operation Football Live player of the week.

That's exactly the case with Laney quarterback Kwame Cunningham. After a disappointing junior season, Cunningham has come back this senior season with a force. He struggled in the first game against Jefferson County but after that, he threw three touchdown passes against Screven County and last week, he rushed for two touchdowns against Dublin, which is one of the best teams in the state in class 2-A. And like any good leader, Cunningham is taking all the success in stride

"Jefferson County was a tough loss but we practiced hard for Screven and Dublin and came out with a tough win" said Kwame Cunningham

"Had a quality opponent and he made some big plays" said coach Lemuel Lackey " I thought that kind of generated the steam that we needed offensively to move the team forward"

And with a week off this week, Cunningham and the Wildcats can relax a bit before their week 5 tilt against Dodge County. But for his clutch play in an upset of Dublin last Friday, Kwame Cunningham is our Operation Football Live player of the week
