Allendale, SC--The last couple of years the best Allendale Fairfax has done, oh, win like 10 ballgames, go deep into the playoffs. It's a far cry from where they were three years ago when just two wins were to be found.
Tigers did take a pretty good hit as far as seniors lost so like a lot of teams, it's the youngsters that'll have to step in. They also need to fill the shoes of running back Lennel Elmore who was on a short list of the best in the area. Allendale Fairfax does have one of the top track teams around and that should pay off in the backfield. But again, they're young.
"Our biggest thing with these kids is game experience." said head coach Wayne Farmer "As we keep playing games, we get our experience there and that makes us a better ball club. The biggest thing right now is game experience for these guys."
Don't think for a second confidence is lacking, that's just not happening. With guys like Marqueiz Kelly, Jerrell Priester and Chris Patterson, the're hoping to raise to bar to a new level.
"We have to get better, that's the permanent goal, off and on the field we have to get better. State championship is the only thing on our mind right now." said senior Chris Patterson
Allendale Fairfax is one of the handfull of schools who open the season tomorrow night.
