Barnwell, SC- For some South Carolina teams, the football season actually starts Friday night. Among the handfull of area teams in action, the Warhorses of Barnwell.
Coach Joey Still has a number of holes to fill up and down the roster. That's what happens when you lose 21 seniors. Besides a good corp of guys up front, they lost their true work horse in the back feild Hason Williams. The pressure falls on a number of fresh faces who have to grasp the game both between the lines and between the ears.
"We're running something new and different on offense and defense this year" said coach Joey Still "It's been a lot of mental preperation and I think the kids are doing real well at picking it up mentally and we just have to get ready to play."
"The line has to be good. We have to do good on the offensive line and every aspect we have to do good, we have to be perfect." said senior Justin Ferguson
Guys like Justin Ferguson will be relied on heavily to lead by example and in the locker room as Barnwell has lofty goals. Whether they reach them or not remains to be seen as the young players could determine the success of the Warhorses.
