AUGUSTA---Most high school teams struggle to find a consistent extra point kicker while the Richmond Academy Musketeers show up with a kid that can bomb it from 50 yards plus.

Junior Eric Osteen is a star on the ARC soccer team but it's his work on the football field that has earned him player of the week honors. This past Friday against Glynn Academy, the Musketeers lined up to punt from Glynn's 40 yard line. Coach Chris Hughes changed his mind however and let Osteen go for the field goal. 57 yards later, he had the fifth longest kick ever in georgia high school football.

"When I kicked it, I was like, 'You know, that might go in,' Osteen remembers. "So i just started jumping up and down. So i was jumping before the ref signaled good. And I was like, 'Wait, did that go in?' I looked at the crowd and they were cheering so I got pretty excited."

Eric, great job!! Your grandmother, Helen, told me all about your fantastic kick. Helen is my stepmother. She was married to my daddy Herman for four years. I look forward to meeting you some day.
