The Buccaneers coach by committee will continue at least through this season. News 12 has learned that first year head coach Blake Duncan resigned this evening.
The chairman of the school's board of trustees confirmed that coach Duncan informed the board of his intention to resign at a meeting tonight.
Duncan has been on paid leave since September 28th and assistant coaches Josh Morey and Bo Fleming have served as dual head coaches since the Bucaneers game at Bulloch Academy last month. Board Chairman David Joesbury declined to say why Duncan was suspended because it is a personnel matter but in a previous prepared statement did say the suspension was "In response to concerns raised by parents."
The search for a new head coach will begin after this season. The 1 and 4 Buccaneers host Tiftarea Academy this Friday night.
