Hephzibah has won 15 games in the last two seasons. It took five years the last time the Rebels added up that many in the "w" column.
Safe to say the team has found a winning attitude recently under Head Coach John Bowen.
The Rebels overcame the loss of a lot of experience last season, and they face the same task this year.
Losing most of your starters two years in a row can be a major roadblock, but Bowen has at least found one answer during camp.
He says, "The one answer we have received is that these kids are working hard. Everyday they're working hard and are accountable. And we've got better each day. If you'd have filmed Monday's practice and then yesterday's (Tuesday), you'd have thought it was two different years. So, we've come a long way, but we've still got a long way to go."
One place where the Rebels don't need to answer questions is the offensive line. The line comes back intact this season, and the guys in the trenches are confident and feel like they will lead the rest of the team as far as it will go.
Senior Martin Lawson says, "Our line this year...I feel like we're the best in the state honestly. We'll open up holes that any running back can get through. "
The Rebels make the move to a different region this season, adding teams like Thomson, Washington County and Burke County to the schedule.
