Wisconsin's Ball sets NCAA career rushing TD record

Saturday, December 1, 2012

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Wisconsin running back Montee Ball has broken another NCAA record.

Ball scored on a 16-yard run in the second quarter against No. 14 Nebraska, diving inside the front pylon to become the Football Bowl Subdivision's career leader for rushing touchdowns (74). Ball and Travis Prentice of Miami (Ohio) had been tied at 73. Ball had rushed 12 times for 100 yards with about 5 minutes to play in the first half.

A week earlier Ball broke the tie with Prentice to become the career leader for touchdowns scored in FBS history with 79. He now has 80.

If Ball scores another touchdown Saturday, he will tie Prentice's career record for most games with two or more TDs (25).
