MIAMI (AP) -- Two University of Miami football players have been arrested on sexual battery charges and were kicked off the team.
Court and jail records show JaWand Blue and Alexander Figueroa were booked on the charges Tuesday morning. Both 20-year-old linebackers were dismissed from the team by Athletic Director Blake James.
A statement from James said both have also been suspended from school and barred from campus facilities.
They each face charges of sexual battery on a physically helpless victim. Figueroa is additionally charged with possession of a stolen or forged driver's license.
A statement from James said: "Any allegation of sexual assault is extremely serious, and the university will not tolerate conduct that threatens the sanctity and safety of our students and our campus."
No attorney was listed in court records for either man.
