Wednesday, December 24, 2008. (AP) -- Police executed a search warrant at the New Jersey home of Plaxico Burress last night.
They removed a small cache of weapons and the pants and sneakers that the New York Giants receiver was wearing when he shot himself in the right thigh.
Among the items were a 9-mm handgun and a rifle and ammunition, including a clip for a .45 gun.
Investigators are trying to determine whether the weapons are registered, so it's unclear whether Burress will face additional charges.
Burress was charged with two felony gun-possession charges following the accidental shooting at a Manhattan nightclub last month.
The receiver's criminal attorney believes that only a registered rifle was taken from the home. He doesn't know whether Burress will face additional charges.
