NEW YORK (AP) -- Stephon Marbury has been suspended one game without pay and his salary has been docked by the New York Knicks. The team says he refused to play in Wednesday's 110-96 loss at Detroit.
The Knicks announced the punishment Friday. Marbury will miss the game home against Golden State on Saturday. He also will lose close to $200,000 in salary.
Marbury has disputed the Knicks' allegation that he refused to play. He told the New York Post that "those words never came out of my mouth."
