ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- Published reports say Matt Millen is
out as Detroit Lions president. Millen's wife tells ESPN's Chris Mortensen her husband is leaving the position. The move comes two days after Bill Ford Jr., son of the team owner, said he would fire him, but didn't have the authority.

Messages seeking comment were left by The Associated Press on
Wednesday for Millen, other team officials and players. FoxSports.com was the first to report Millen's departure. The move comes more than seven years after the former linebacker and TV analyst took over one of the NFL's most mediocre franchises and made it the worst.

Millen's teams won a league-low 31 games since he took over in
2001. Detroit is 0-3 this season, dropping Millen's record to 31-84
overall.
